Class Action Over Georgia Power Add-On Fees Again Argued at Court of Appeals | Daily Report – Law.com

A lawyer representing a potential class of millions of Georgia Power Co. ratepayers was at the state Court of Appeals on Wednesday, hoping to convince a panel of judges to revive a long-running dispute that has bounced back and forth between Georgia’s appellate and trial courts for a decade. At issue are the plaintiffs’ efforts to force the utility to disgorge what they claim are improper charges tacked onto the ratepayers’ bills that are supposed to cover expenses it incurs providing services such as the costs of easements to access its facilities.
